A Buxahatchee Update
Back in our June 2025 newsletter, we talked about Buxahatchee, our newest Cul2vate farm. After breaking ground in February 2025, Bux was a new endeavor, acres of potential with tons of rocks to clear. Last year, we grew okra, broccoli, watermelon, and more.
In 2026, we will continue our expansion by introducing additional crops at this farm site—such as kohlrabi, corn, and kale—to enhance nutritional diversity for the people we serve.

And we’re building a barn! At Ellington, our barn is a place to store farming equipment, take a break from the heat, host events, and so much more. We hope the barn at Buxahatchee will serve the same functions.
Erecting this barn is ushering in a new era where our production can expand, allowing us to feed even more hungry neighbors.
1 Corinthians 3:10-11 says, “By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Sometimes transformation takes time, and we aim to build with care on a firm foundation in farming, in ministry, and in life.
Watching Buxahatchee transform from acres of soil filled with rocks to a new barn and rows of seeds ready to sprout and grow is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the perseverance of our Cul2vators, staff, and Champions.
